Kristi Yamaguchi!
She is a great skater and a wonderful dancer. I am sure you all saw her on Dancing with the Stars! I knew she had it from the beginning. But who are The Jonas Brothers? Who am I not to know? Well, when I was offered this event, my first response was, "No, no, people can see skating on TV." "But The Jonas Brothers are playing with Kristi," came the response. "So...?" I asked. I told my 81 year old mother about the event at US Airway and she was shocked that I would even consider not getting tickets for it. "It’s The Jonas Brothers," she said. "They are the thing from Disney Channel right now." Hmmmm, I didn’t know how she knew all this, she doesn’t even have cable! So then I asked my girls and they agreed with their "with-it" Grandma, "You had better get the tickets!" So I did.
Well, Grandma was right. I sold 100 tickets and could have probably sold another 50 or more! The Jonas Brothers...did anyone go to see Kristi Yamaguchi, Friends and Family skate? Not really, from what I heard. The event was full of young girls and their parents. However an SCEA member who took her sister told me they had a blast and the skating was very cool too! She said the entire show was very entertaining!! And that her little sister even cried when The Jonas Brothers were singing!! And every girl under the age of 22 was screaming in high pitch tones! And good for them, that is how it’s suppose to be growing up — good healthy crushes on cute boy stars. We have all had them. Don’t even get me started on that.
I even had a dad, who bought tickets for his 13 year old daughter, call me back to thank me for offering the event because now he is the "BEST FATHER in the whole wide world!!"
You go, Jonas Brothers!! And all of you who like them, more power to you!

WATERWORLD.
This event keeps getting bigger and bigger!!! We were just shy of having 400 SCEA Members and their Families participate. The food is always good, where do they get those Hot Dogs? The day was beautiful with the slightest of a breeze and not extremely hot to burn our feet while walking slide to slide! We got in line and on the slide in a couple of heart beats. This is the way to do WaterWorld!! How ever FYI, Golfland no longer owns WaterWorld! Another company out bid them for it next year. The park actually belongs to the City. Who knew? The other company is going to add an Ice Skating rink and other activities that can be used year around! Now no worries because I am going to get to know the group sales person for the new owners or who ever and keep our tradition going as well as SunSplash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!

WALKING WITH DINOSAURS,
was it like seeing the dinosaurs in real life size? Yes, oh my goodness it was very real! The host looked like an ant in comparison to the Dino’s. One bite and he would be gone with most of the species. It was great to watch them rome around and growl, even their skin moved and wiggled side to side as they walked. The setting was great and I learned a lot about the different times of the dinosaurs and how they survived the ice age, volcano’s and then finally the huge meteor wiped them out! WOW I just impressed myself for remembering all that! I saw young and old kids watching in amazement, some did cry and had to be taken out of the arena, some had their ears covered and others wanted to rundown and touch them. It was absolutely great. And if you missed it I am very sorry, they won’t be back again until 2010!!

I hope you didn’t miss the SEA 2008 Steak Fry! If you did you missed a great time! The food was so good. Safeway steaks, coleslaw, jojo potatoes and yummy bakery buns! It was hard to eat it all, but most of us managed anyways. Desert was simple but just as yummy. Safeway gourmet cookies. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgood!!!
The kids and adults alike had a great time playing! We had two bouncy houses, carnival games with prizes, dancing and a dance contest, bull riding and a bull riding contest. Just loads of fun. I especially liked the fact that John Wayne showed up and joined us! If you didn’t make it this year I sure hope you come and have fun with us all next year, you won’t want to miss it. Take a look at the pictures too!!
