Our first SCEA Golf Tournament was a HUGE Success!! First of all let me thank my Chairmen who did a great job setting everything up for the Tournament!! THANK YOU Jeremy Heflich and Curtis Styles, I appreciate your involvement in our SCEA!! I would also like to thank our volunteers that came out to help with decorating, displaying the door prizes, taking pictures, selling tickets for a drawing for great prizes, sitting at the Hole in one and Tiger Drive holes, bringing out extra water to the golfers and just being there to support SCEA!! And these great volunteers are: Stephanie Dee Wees, Tristan, Canyon, Cindy Cassidy, Laire Harris, Lashey Espitia, Crystal Lessi, Millie Styles, McKenzie Styles and Grace Newkirk!!! And last but absolutely not least, THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS!! It’s our SCEA members that make our events so successful, so keep coming and enjoying your SCEA events!!!

This was also a great fund raiser for our “Friends Helping Friends” Program! From the donations made for the Drawing, Tiger Drive and String Putt, all of you raised $1309.00! I can’t wait until next year!!

Another great SCEA Picnic!!!!!! SCEA Members and their families enjoyed a well planned picnic by the SCEA Officer Angel Elzy!! And thank you to all his helpers!!!
I’ll have to say if you have not been to Douglas you have to take the drive! Once you get off Interstate 10, the drive is beautiful! And the towns on the way are very nice! Douglas is a great little town and the parks are so lush and green, including the park we had the SCEA party at. If you went to this picnic you were entertained the whole time!! There was a jumpy house that even a few of the adults played in and a DJ box with great music. Then we ate tasty hotdogs and hamburgers and all the trimmings to go with! And oh my goodness the games were so much fun!! Tug of war, three legged race, bag race and the best use for the tug of war rope was to tie Angel up to a tree!!
Then we got a nice little rain but that didn’t stop the picnic, we took cover and when the sun came back out we started up the grill again and enjoyed the music, the company and bounced around in the jumpy house!

Footloose and fancy free. That is how we all felt as we enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends, family and co-workers! The dinner was great and the show was FANTASTIC!! The smiles kept coming as I watched the SCEA members enjoy themselves at this great venue!! It almost feels like you are on the stage with the actors! There were some new friendships made and some old ones rekindled!!

WOW, this was a great event!! We had SCEA Members and their families from Payson, Prescott, Phoenix, Mesa! Thank you everyone for coming and making this a great gathering!! Also the wonderful signs everyone made!! It was very hard for our D-back Rep. to choose a winner!! She gave away a couple of game tickets, a couple of hats and a t-shirt. What fun we had! We had our 3 year old fans there and our oldie but goodie fans there too! It’s our SCEA members that make our events so much fun, so keep coming and enjoying your SCEA events!!!

Another great SCEA Picnic!!!!!! SCEA Members and their families enjoyed a well planned picnic by the SCEA Officer Kristin Lopez and the support of 1733’s manager, Gregg Gilmore!!! Great food, hamburgers and hotdogs, salads, chips, popcorn and cotton candy and great conversation and games: horse shoes, water balloon throw, egg on the spoon race, three legged race, and Tug of War!! So much fun in so little time!!

April Bingo
BINGO Arizona Diamondback style was GREAT!! We had one of our largest turnouts and almost everyone left with a prize!! Lots of D-back giveaways and lots of D-back facts were given out this night. I loved seeing everyone in their D-back gear, shirts, hats, jerseys and more.
Don’t Miss out on the next BINGO night on July 30th!! It might be your lucky night!!

Wow, what a great time! We have been to several Friday Night Bingos and they keep getting Bigger and BETTER!!! Thanks, Liz, for a JOB WELL DONE!!! You always make it fun for ALL!!! It's a great time whether you win or not. Where else can you go out for $10.00? You get a dinner with dessert and play Bingo with a chance to WIN besides.

Disneyland Private Party
Another WONDERFUL and SUCCESSFUL SCEA Disneyland Trip! Five Busses from the Phoenix Division of SCEA traveled to California for the Annual SCEA Disneyland Private Party. This is our 3rd year running!! This is the perfect example of why it is great to be a Safeway Companies Employee Association Member! Because we are one big employee association—the biggest in the nation—and members can take advantage of all the savings company wide!
Thank you to all SCEA members and their family for your participation in our SCEA events! And my super duper thanks to all my Bus Captains who helped me make sure everyone who came to Disneyland went back to Phoenix! I appreciate your extra time and efforts to help out your SCEA!! See you next year at the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!
